Hoisin sauce gives these ribs an Asian feel that leaves them sweet and tangy.
Separate ribs by cutting them apart. With a pasty brush, brush each side of each rib with hoisin sauce. Season first with Cajun seasoning, then basil, and sprinkle brown sugar over top. Lastly, brush again with hoisin sauce, completely covering seasonings.
Let sit in refrigerator for 2 to 3 hours, letting flavors meld together. (Overnight refrigeration is a great idea.) On a well heated grill, place ribs on grill, and cover. It takes about thirty minutes per side, but constant flipping will keep it from scorching. Ten minutes before desired doneness, coat ribs with spicy honey BBQ. Let cook for five minutes, and then flip ribs again, and coat that side also with honey BBQ sauce. Once taken off grill, serve. But if you plan on eating later, set oven to 125 degrees, and let sit in oven until serving time.
Notes:
Hoisin sauce can be found in the Asian section of your grocery stores.
