Pork Chops Smothered

These pork chops are seasoned and then simmered in a mixture of onion soup mix, canned cream of mushroom soup and water.
 

Ingredients

  • 8 pork chops, rinsed and patted dry
  • Seasoned salt (such as Season-All)
  • Black pepper
  • Garlic powder
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 packet Lipton onion soup mix
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 soup can water

Method

Season pork chops lightly with seasoned salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Heat a pan over medium heat and add oil. Lightly brown pork chops on each side. Reduce heat to low, and add cream of mushroom soup, onion soup and water. Mix well, and let simmer for 20 minutes or until done, turning pork chops occasionally.

 

Notes: Canned cream of chicken soup may be substituted in this recipe.
