Garlic Basil Pork with Applesauce

Pork chops are quickly sauteed with a little oil and seasonings, then simmered until tender with applesauce.

Ingredients:

  • 6 to 8 pork loin chops
  • 1/4 cup canola oil
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp parsley flakes
  • 1 tsp dried basil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 1/2 cup applesauce
  • 2 tsp chopped garlic
  • 1/8 tsp allspice
  • 1/8 tsp nutmeg

Method

Mix canola oil with basil, parsley flakes and garlic powder. Coat pork loin and lightly cook in large skillet. While pork is browning, mix remaining ingredients in a small bowl and pour directly over pork loins once browned. Let cook over med to low heat for 30 to 40 minutes.

Notes: I like to serve with dirty rice and a veggie.

Number of servings: 8
