Corned Beef Hash

This traditional breakfast dish is prepared expertly with this recipe. The yellow onion and garlic powder really add a flavor that sets this apart.
 

Ingredients

  • 2 cans corned beef
  • 2 large yellow onions, chopped
  • 6 large potatoes
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder
  • 3 tablespoons butter

Method

Peel and dice potatoes. In 2 quart saucepan, add potatoes, 2 tablespoons butter and water to cover, then heat to boiling. Boil until potatoes are soft. While potatoes are cooking, place vegetable oil in a large skillet on medium heat. Place onion in hot oil and saute until just beginning to brown. Add contents of corned beef to skillet with browned onions. Stir and heat until corned beef is nice and browned. Drain cooked potatoes and add to corned beef mixture. Add salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and remaining butter. Mix well and heat thoroughly.
